Thanks, giving
Not much over here, day before Thanksgiving.
We don't "celebrate" thanksgiving, especially since it's so sanitized by colonization and white supremacy. However, we do use it as an excuse to cook good food together, and hang out with any friends who also have the day off work. Really, who needs an excuse to bake pie???
On another note, I have received a couple anonymous packages from caring mothers and families this year and it is bewildering and comforting and heartening. This whole Holiday Helper thing at MDC is truly amazing! If you have half an inkling to help a family who cares about breastfeeding and bonding and many other AP-centered practices with their basic living and gifting needs, please consider helping at MDC's Holiday Helper thread. There are over 100 more families this year who applied for help, and helpers are DESPERATELY needed. I mailed two boxes of diapers and a box of clothes with a toy for a family who also needs help. It didn't cost too much, but it did cost something. If you can't help through the Holiday Helpers, please consider donating through Freecycle or giving some whole foods to a local food pantry, or donating some non-toxic toys to a Toys for Tots program near you.
And mama who dropped off that basket for us - you know who you are - THANK YOU!!
PSA over.
Now get ready for your holiday eating frenzy or laying around all day. And maybe give us a call...

It's deviled eggs and pie here today. Decided not to visit the parental units since I STILL have this cold after 10 days. Didn't think sharing it would be very friendly.
Chris is outside working in the yard enjoying the probable last nice day.
Hope your feasting is grand and your day is a good one.
XO
Jim

You made the mistake of asking about my cold...
Well, my right nostril seems to be an endless fount of snot and blood. Yes, it is every bit as exciting as it sounds. Hurts too. Dunno what the problem is. Hope it isn't a fungus that's going to eat my brain. But then that would at least be an interesting way to go. It would just suck not to be around to tell everyone about it. ;)
