Do you smell smoke, too?

Although I may be older and wiser now, I still can't determine why I smell forest fire smoke this morning. Truth is, we smelled it last night as a small thunderstorm moved in, but it's still here this morning. And there are no online news sources about any kind of forest fires locally or in northern wisconsin or Minnesota.

Anyone care to enlighten me?

I'll hazard a guess. The wildfires out west have probably put a fair amount of smoke in the upper atmosphere. In thunderstorms, high altitude air rushes down (that's why they're windy). Could be you got a downdraft of smoke.
